Duarte Mota is a Research Engineer at the Technology Engineering Group. He will be responsible for designing, modelling, and building mechanical systems and interfaces, by applying subtractive and additive production techniques.
He has a mechanical engineering degree from the Universidade do Minho, with expertise in Production Technologies. Before INL, he worked since 2007 as an industrial research engineer in the automotive industry at EDAETECH S.A., and the last five as R&D Director. His role was to develop and produce advanced automated systems to integrate and improve the productivity of the production line, mainly focused on the development of high power fiber laser CNC machines for material processing. Over the years he acquired knowledge and expertise in laser cutting, welding, metrology and additive manufacturing beside other production processes and technologies.
